They speak in metaphors, that's how they are wired. What if for a second, just a baby haired moment they stepped out of their programmed metaphor stupor and made a true reading of our realities. That's the beauty and true mysticism of mechanical fortune tellers. We wonder if they can really tell the future on that slip of orange weathered paper we receive. It sure made a young fourteen year old open her mind to the idea of what makes a fortune read.

This scene really reminded me of my first Zoltar reading at a Ripley's believe it or not museum. I really thought about how fortunes are told, and what makes a fortune come about. I believe that started some of my thoughts into religion.
